Return to campus
As previously communicated, in-person classes will begin on campus Feb. 28. All employees who are needed to support in-person instruction will be required to be on campus at that time.
The Government of Alberta is expecting to lift its mandatory work from home order on March 1. If this is the case, then employees who wish to return to working on campus can voluntarily do so starting in March. Please consult with your manager first to confirm any plans to voluntarily return to working on campus.
The University of Calgary will enable a wider return to campus for all employees starting in April. Managers are asked to work with their teams to begin to plan for a return to campus for that time. Planning materials will be sent to our people leaders in the coming days which provide guidance and support on return-to-work arrangements.
Understanding that many employees are seeking continued flexibility in their work, Human Resources is working on a long-term hybrid working program. The transition back to campus in March and April and the following six months will serve as a pilot period where elements of hybrid remote working can be tested and help inform our long-term approach.
