Where can I pay my fees and see how much my tuition will cost?

As a student you’re charged tuition and general fees based on your immigration status, your program of study, the number of courses you’re enrolled in and your full-time/part-time status as a student.

There are two places to support understanding how much tuition will cost as well as the process to pay: the cost calculator for tuition estimates by program and the Registrar's Office Finances website for payment options.

Once you are admitted, your Student Centre (my.ucalgary.ca) will support understanding your fees and much more.

The easiest way to pay is with online banking.

  • If you bank with a Canadian Bank account you can set it up entirely through your Bank by selecting the University of Calgary as a payee, or you could use the CIBC Student Pay.
  • If you have an international bank account, you can choose between WU GlobalPay for Students or CIBC Student Pay.

Payment by major credit card is now available for all students. International students can utilize either WU GlobalPay or CIBC Student Pay to make a credit card payment, and domestic students can make a credit payment through CIBC Student Pay

When will you accept applications again?

The application for our undergraduate degree programs for the fall 2022 intake will open on October 1, 2021. In the meantime, we suggest exploring our programs to ensure you will meet all the requirements for any programs you are interested in applying for!

Do you have scholarships for transfer students?

The University of Calgary does not offer entrance awards or scholarships for incoming transfer students; however you might be eligible for continuing awards once you have completed the most recent fall and winter terms at UCalgary as a full-time student! Click here to learn more about eligibility requirements for continuing awards.

Can I change my program after my first year?

Students will be able to apply to change their program starting October 1, 2021. You will submit a change of program request from your My UCalgary student centre. If you have completed fewer than 12 post-secondary units, you may be eligible for admission based on high school course grades. If you have completed over 12 units, you must meet the competitive transfer GPA along with any other additional requirements for the specific program. Please see a faculty program advisor for more information.

I have an offer for my second choice, but I am still waiting for an offer for my first choice. If I don’t pay the deposit by May 1, will I still be considered for my first choice?

Yes, you will still be considered for your first choice once we receive new documents (eg. final official transcript). However, by not paying the deposit by May 1, your application to your second choice will be cancelled.

By accepting your 2nd choice, you will still be considered for your 1st choice at a later date should you meet the competitive requires and a space becomes available, while holding a space in your 2nd choice program.

For more details, see our FAQ page.

We encourage all students with an offer of admission to pay the deposit as soon as possible on your My UCalgary student centre!

Where should my school send my official finalized transcripts?

Official transcripts must be sent before the final transcript deadlines to finalize your admission offer.

Official transcripts are documents sent directly to the admissions office from institutions maintaining such records, such as the Department of Education. Official transcripts can be mailed or sent electronically through certain secure electronic delivery services, such as Parchment, e-Script-Safe, or National Student Clearinghouse.

Due to Covid-19, your school/institution can send your final official transcripts by e-mail to the following e-mail address: transcripts@ucalgary.ca. Please ask your school to provide your first name and last name in the e-mail.

I have been accepted into both my first and second choice. Is it possible to accept my second choice instead of my first?

Congratulations! If you received an offer to more than one program choice, we just need you to let us know which program you will be joining. You can do this by accepting the offer in your Student Centre and declining the program choice that you no longer want.

If you have been admitted to a joint program, you will need to accept both programs.
