Very first newsletter, Decolonial Dispatches published by Sociologists for Palestine (S4P) features writing by our faculty members and graduate student

The first issue of the newsletter published by Sociologists for Palestine (S4P) features second year, sociology doctoral student, Rineem Saleh’s personal essay on the experience of being Palestinian in the academy. It also features The Conversation piece authored by UCalgary faculty members,  Pallavi Banerjee (Sociology), Pratim Sengupta (Werklund School of Education) and Yahya El Lahib (Social Work) on the violent crushing of the encampments for Palestine on campuses in 2023, along with one of the sociology giants of our times, Dr. Michael Buroway’s one of last pieces of writing before he passed away in February 2025, and an essay by Palestinian American sociologist Eman Abdelhadi among other radical pieces registering pain and protest.
