V.124 Release Notes

Last night we released V.124 of the UCalgary Web System. Please take a moment to review the release notes to see the updates included in the latest release.

What’s Fixed?

Bugs and issues resolved in the latest release. 

  • Streaming media block media caption permissions issue causing this field to be unavailable for content editor, content admin, and site admin roles
  • Removal of duplicate <a> tag in the Cards block for improved accessibility
  • Important dates block generating PHP errors in logs
  • Page filter blocks and webforms causing errors in logs on specific environments
  • Content migration script failure due to URL format
  • Various improvements and fixes related to system stability and performance
    • Tag/taxonomy page caching
    • Updated caching protocols for the News System
    • Blocking unwanted bots and crawlers

 

What’s New?

New features, block enhancements, and system updates from the latest release.  

  • Optional title field for the Image, Image Gallery and Masonry gallery blocks 
  • Custom character counter to appear on media caption fields on Image Gallery and Masonry Gallery blocks which have an existing 250 character limit

In Progress

Work that is currently in progress and will be included in an upcoming release. 

 

Fixes 

  • News thumbnail images missing from metadata
  • “Edit this block” buttons missing on mobile and tablet screen sizes
  • Sortable ‘Authored on’ column on content list
  • Content migration missing blocks after migration 
  • Incorrect Profile appearing for user after logging in to profiles.ucalgary.ca/user (user-specific issue) 

 

Enhancements 

  • Freezing top row in authoring for screens with large tables (Gin)
  • Reporting module to identify orphaned blocks to aid content cleanup efforts 
  • Inconsistency with image upload settings

 

Other

  • Various updates related to the Drupal 10 upgrade  
  • Privacy boilerplate update for Webforms and Marketo block 
  • Content migration patch update
  • News system performance improvements
