The Faculty of Arts’ Department of Psychology has two research projects competing in the national CIHR Institute of Human Development, Child and Youth Health (IHDCYH) Talks 2025 Competition. The objective of the competition is to mobilize research within IHDCYH’s Areas of Focus and help demonstrate the impact that evidence can and does have on human development, child, and youth health in Canada.  

Team co-led by Dr. Perri Tutelman

Dr. Perri Tutelman, PhD., an assistant professor of psychology, worked with Dr. Fiona Schulte, PhD., an associate professor of oncology, in Cumming School of Medicine and Chantale Thurston, Patient Partner, Board Chair of AYA Can. The project was supported by a steering group of 16+ people with lived experience, a research team with content and methodological expertise, and over 30 community organizations. Dr. Sheri Madigan, PhD., a professor of psychology, and her team in the Department of Psychology worked with Dr. Gina Dimitropoulos, PhD., a professor in the Faculty of Social Work; Dr. Nicole Racine, PhD., an associate professor of psychology at the University of Ottawa; and clinicians from the Luna Child and Youth Advocacy Centre. Read the UToday story here
