Paying a parking ticket this week can do more than clear a balance; it can help strengthen food security on campus.

From Nov. 17 to 23, half of all parking fine payments will support the Campus Food Hub, a space dedicated to improving students' access to nutritious, affordable food at the University of Calgary.

Located on the main level of Crowsnest Hall, the Campus Food Hub is a collaborative effort between Student Experience and SupportAncillary Services, UCalgary's Students’ Union, and the Graduate Students’ Association

The space offers inclusive, student-centred programs and resources designed to help students nourish their bodies and minds. Initiatives include Ladle UP!, Breakfast Club and the Affordable Food Market, all of which provide fresh meals, low-cost groceries and opportunities to build food skills.

“Food insecurity is a growing challenge for many students,” says Michael Wilson, director of Parking and Transportation Services

“This initiative gives our campus community a simple way to help in a way that has an immediate and meaningful impact.”

The UCalgary community can participate by paying any outstanding parking tickets between Nov. 17 and 23.

Every payment made during this week helps sustain Campus Food Hub programs that support student well-being throughout the year.

Make your parking fine count this week. Pay your fine online or in person at the Campus Service Centre, located on the main level of International House.
