HPI Trainees visit St. Bede Grade 4 class - March 7, 2016.
On March 7, 2016, St Bede school in Calgary asked HPI trainees to do a presentation for the grade 4 class. The class had been doing a project on the endangered woodland caribou populations in Alberta and wanted some ‘experts’ to come and talk to them about this. Post-doctoral fellow, Anja Carlsson, and PhD student Juliette di Francesco went to the school and provided an exciting, interactive presentation about caribou biology, parasites, and conservation. Their presentation, which included hands-on activities with caribou hides, antlers and parasites, was very well-received by the students.
