Dr. Craig Jenne, PhD, associate professor in the Departments of Critical Care Medicine and Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Cumming School of Medicine, and a member of the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases, has been awarded the University of Calgary Teaching Award.

A University of Calgary Teaching Award is a distinguished honour for members of our university community. Awards are available in 14 categories, recognizing teaching excellence in diverse learning contexts by individuals and teams, through curriculum design and educational leadership.

“This award reminds me of the continual support and mentorship I have received over the years. This encouragement and guidance has allowed me to adapt my courses to the evolving needs of the classroom, to pivot during the challenges of COVID-19, and to extend my teaching beyond the classroom, engaging in community outreach and public forums where we can help inform and explain current issues to the larger community,” says Dr. Jenne.

This year's in-person celebration of the 2022 University of Calgary Teaching Awards recipients recognized the extraordinary efforts that educators have put into creating valuable learning experiences for their students in blended, online and in-person environments.

Since 2014, the Teaching Awards have been an opportunity for the acknowledgement and celebration of outstanding contributions to teaching and learning.
