Yesterday evening, the School of Public Policy celebrated student innovation and three decades of interdisciplinary energy education at the 10th Annual MSc in Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) Student Research Showcase.

The showcase brought together SEDV students, faculty, industry partners and energy-sector leaders to explore practical solutions to some of today’s most pressing energy and sustainability challenges. Students presented research and capstone projects that demonstrate how interdisciplinary approaches can help address complex issues across energy, environment, business, law and policy.

“Diversity is a tool that can be leveraged to face the challenges of the low-carbon transition, as I have seen through my journey in the SEDV program,” said Jimmy Mulbah. “The Student Research Showcase reflects that, bringing together different perspectives and areas of expertise to explore innovative solutions to complex energy challenges.”

Many of the projects were developed in collaboration with industry partners, giving students an opportunity to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges while connecting with professionals working across the energy sector.

The showcase also marked the 30th anniversary of the SEDV program.

The 10th annual showcase highlighted the impact of this interdisciplinary approach, while celebrating the students, partners and community that continue to shape SEDV’s legacy of innovation and leadership in sustainable energy development.

The MSc in Sustainable Energy Development (SEDV) program at the School of Public Policy integrates engineering, law, business and public policy for an education that aligns sustainability, growth and vision with feasibility.
