Professor cited in three appellate decisions

On March 8, 2024, the Supreme Court of Canada cited Jennifer’s piece “Marriage and Advance Consent to Sex: A Feminist Judgment in R v JA” (2016), 6 Oñati Socio‑legal Series 1377” in R. v. Kruk, 2024 SCC 7. On March 28, 2024, the Court cited three of Jennifer’s articles on equality rights in Dickson v. Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation, 2024 SCC 10, including two pieces co-authored with Professor Emerita Jonnette Watson Hamilton, one of those an ABlawg post. And on February 29, 2024, the BC Court pf Appeal relied on Jennifer’s work on myths and stereotypes about gender-based violence in K.M.N. v. S.Z.M., 2024 BCCA 70, including another ABlawg post.
