The Government of Alberta proclaimed Monday, Sept. 19, 2022, an Official Day of Mourning in recognition of her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The province is hosting an outdoor ceremony at the Alberta Legislature at 10 a.m. to mark the day of her funeral, and has encouraged workplaces, schools, offices and stores to observe a moment of silence at that time. The ceremony in Edmonton will be available to watch online through the province’s website here.

Following this directive, the University of Calgary will remain open on Monday, Sept. 19. Classes and university operations will continue as scheduled. Our flags remain at half-mast to honour the Queen’s passing.
