Outstanding contributions to medical education recognized

Drs. Janet de Groot and David Topps are 2014 recipients of AFMC awards for outstanding contributions to medical education in Canada.

Dr. Janet de Groot and Dr. David Topps are recipients of AFMC awards for outstanding contributions to medical education in Canada. 

Dr. de Groot, Associate Dean, Office of Equity and Professionalism, is the 2014 recipient of The May Cohen Equity, Diversity and Gender Award.  The award is presented to a female physician who has demonstrated an ongoing commitment to mentoring others.

Dr. Topps, a professor in the department of Family Medicine, along with his colleague Dr. Ellaway, is the recipient of the AFMC-Infoway, e-Health Award. The award is given to a faculty member from a Canadian faculty of medicine who demonstrates exceptional leadership and commitment to e-health and informatics in medical education curriculum.

The Awards Ceremony will take place at the 2014 Canadian Conference on Medical Education on April 27, 2014 in Ottawa.
