Faculty of Arts alumna among the 52 finalists of the Salt Spring National Art Prize

Congratulations to Devonn Drossel, who graduated in 2020 from the combined degree program with a BA in International Indigenous Studies and a BA in Linguistics and Language, for being among the 52 finalist of the 2021/2022 Salt Spring National Art Prize with her piece “Ita Ka-Withotihk Miciwin – The Place Where There is an Abundance of Food". Devonne started this piece in her final year at University of Calgary in a directed studies class with professor Judy Anderson and completed it this year. Devonne is currently working on her Masters degree in the Faculty of Native Studies at the University of Alberta.

The Salt Spring National Art Prize Finalist Exhibition is to be held at Mahon Hall, Salt Spring Island, BC from September 24 - October 25, 2021.
