The Democratic Republic of the Congo is currently experiencing an ongoing outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease, a severe and often fatal disease. This is the second largest outbreak of EVD ever reported worldwide. In June 2019, 3 cases were confirmed in Uganda in the Kasese District.
Several countries bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo have instituted health screening precautions at their entry points. If you are travelling to that area of Africa, read the Government of Canada notice on the Ebola Virus Disease and check the Travel Advisory for your intended country of travel.
