Dr. Maitreyi Raman awarded 2021 Outstanding Researcher, Women in IBD Awards

Crohn’s and Colitis Canada and Pfizer Canada announce that Dr. Maitreyi Raman, MD is being recognized as this year’s Outstanding Researcher for the 2021 Women in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) Awards.

Dr. Raman is a gastroenterologist and physician nutrition specialist. She is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at UCalgary’s Cumming School of Medicine and a member of the Snyder Institute for Chronic Diseases.

Known for balancing expert care of her patients with a world-class research program, Dr. Raman is being recognized for her exceptional research in the field of diet and nutrition in IBD, working to assess disease mechanisms in IBD and develop personalized therapy.
