Copyright Office offers online workshops to support academic community

Sessions give overview of copyright considerations for instruction and ways to ensure course materials are copyright compliant

If you use and/or share articles, book chapters, videos, audio, or Internet content in your courses, you need to know about copyright!

As you prepare course materials for the winter term, the Copyright Office can help by ensuring the educational exceptions in the Copyright Act are appropriately applied. The Office can arrange for copyright permissions and access to content, including audio and video.

The Office also offers online workshops that give an overview of copyright considerations and institutional copyright policies and procedures. The sessions explain how the Copyright Office assists with ensuring course materials are copyright compliant, and how to use the Reading List Service. The service is integrated with the library collection and enables instructors to add course materials from different sources. It gives students direct access to course readings.

The copyright review and clearance process is typically completed within a week. Email the office with any questions.
