CCAL’s Leadership Challenge Weekend

A weekend of challenges, excitement and fun!

Just as midterm season comes to an end, the Canadian Centre for Advanced Leadership (CCAL) will be presenting an amazing opportunity to reset, meet new people and, learn about advanced leadership. The Leadership Challenge Weekend is a unique weekend field course designed to help students practice the real world competencies, attitudes and self-awareness skills required by advanced leaders and effective teams in the modern business world.

Based at Camp Chief Hector in Kananaskis in the Rockies from October 21st to the 23rd, students will participate in a range of engaging experiential activities and challenges designed to build leadership skills and reflect on the implications for their academic, community and professional roles.

Students are provided with the opportunity to develop and refine their advanced leadership and effective teamwork skills. These skills are critical for success on many levels. The weekend is designed to give students a real life case setting that cannot be replicated anywhere else. Students are able to practice real world skills, attitudes and self-awareness skills that successful advanced leaders and effective teams use in the world today.

“I learned how to work effectively in a team as all the activities were team-based and everyone held leadership roles at some point throughout all the activities. We also explored different leadership qualities as were asked to reflect back on ourselves after every activity and encouraged to elaborate on our findings and share with the group,” says former attendee Dan (Aurora) He.

The Leadership Challenge Weekend is not only a chance to gain skills that will last a lifetime, but a chance to meet to people and enjoy the beautiful autumn Canadian Rockies just before winter. Students will be able to expand their business network and potentially make lifelong friends.

The Leadership Challenge Weekend costs $35 which includes a bus ride to the camp, living accommodations, and meals.
