Associate Scientific Director - Health Systems
The O’Brien Institute for Public Health invites applications for the position of Associate Scientific Director - Health Systems (0.2 FTE). This leadership position will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to integrate innovation and research into citizen-focused health system delivery so that sustainable high-quality care is equitably available to all people. The successful candidate will be an active member of the O’Brien Institute for Public Health, have formal training in innovations/research methods (PhD or MD plus formal research training), experience leading large health system innovations/research initiatives and demonstrated leadership skills. A track record of health system partnerships, Tri-Council funding as a nominated principal applicant, dissemination of findings to local, national and international audiences and knowledge exchange to provide better health care is important. Duties with this position include, but are not limited to, managing the institute’s health systems catalyst funding, fostering innovations/research initiatives including team grants, promoting a culture of innovation and building strategic links between the institute and partner organizations.

The successful candidate will assume leadership of the institute’s health systems programs and initiatives. Ideally, the successful candidate would commence this role on January 3, 2022.
