The 2021 My First Professional Exhibit Award Announced

BFA student Heather Kehoe is the recipient of the 2021 First Professional Exhibit Award.

The Department of Art and Art History is pleased to announce that Heather Kehoe is the recipient of the 2021 My First Professional Exhibit Award.

Heather's exhibition, "That may not be the best way to win the girl's affections" takes place in the cSPACE Gallery from March 1 - 26, 2022.

In 2011, George and Susannah Kurian created an endowment to honour the memory of their longtime neighbour and friend, Dorothy McFarlane (1918-2010). Originally from Medicine Hat, Dorothy studied art at the University of Alberta and the Banff School of Fine Arts. She was a world traveller and used her creative abilities to engage and understand the world. After the Kurians had moved to Calgary, they met Dorothy and her husband Harry, and cherished the friendship as they settled in a new city.

The My First Professional Exhibition Award is funded by The Kurian's endowment. Given annually to a graduating art student, usually in the BFA Honours Program, previous recipients include Katie Green (2014) and Chloe Kinsella (2015).
