Professor published in Journal of Diplomacy and International Relations

Professor Kathleen Mahoney has published in article in the current issue from Seton Hall University.

Kathleen's article, "Indigenous Laws and Human Rights Uprisings," describes how human rights uprisings in Canada often occur because of Canada’s lack of recognition and respect for indigenous laws. The paper argues that these uprisings happen because Canada’s justice system and the lawyers, judges, policy makers, and politicians that operate within it are generally ill prepared to comprehend or reconcile the relationship between colonial legal systems and indigenous systems of law.
