Congratulations to our Philosophy and Women’s Studies Class of 2020! You’ve accomplished so much, and so successfully completing your studies in the midst of a global pandemic is a feat unto itself. We wish we could celebrate with you in-person, alongside your classmates, faculty, friends and family, but know that we are thinking of you and appreciate all of your contributions these past several years. We look forward to seeing you at the convocation ceremony in November.

This year’s BA in Philosophy recipients are Andrew Blanton, Evan Cave, Leigh Hajji, Zachary Kennedy, Alexander Klipper, Tylor Pavlik, William Shepherd, Matthew Starker and Blaise Zak. Luke Neilson and Alexandra Sellers are graduating with their BA Honours in Philosophy. Our BA in Women’s Studies graduates are Anna Albers and Kelly Maskey.

Alexandra Sellers (BA Honours in Philosophy) is the recipient of our first annual Philosophy Honours Thesis Award for her outstanding honours thesis paper and defence this past year. She begins her graduate studies (MA Philosophy) in the department this fall.

Evan Cave (BA Philosophy) has been awarded the Faculty of Arts’ Silver Medallion for the Department of Philosophy, considered one of the highest academic distinctions earned by a student. Evan shares that the most valuable aspect of his time in the philosophy program was “the conversations I had with faculty and other students, especially those which occurred outside of classes. I learned so much from these, and found great friends among my fellow students.” He'll be studying philosophy in the MA program at the University of Western Ontario next year.
